Description of manuscript content:
The third of four fascicles of the Cundasukarika Sutta describes the merit derived from paying homage and listening to the Cundasukarika Sutta in the way Dhammika Bandit did before. Because of the power of the merit, a miraculous lighting took place in the Tavatimsa heaven. When Indra realized this, he sent Mataliputta to take Dhammika to heaven and asked him about his practice.
Colophon:
Folio 12 on the recto side: In Culasakka-rat (CS) 1235, a ka hao year, on the fifth day of the waning moon of the fourth [lunar] month, the seventh day of the week (Saturday), a ka khai day, at the time of the morning drum (7:30–9:00), the writing of this manuscript was finished. Chao Hua Rasanosit together with his wife, children, relatives and male-female slaves had had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Chunthasukari-kasut to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5 thousand years. May all our wishes and desires be fulfilled. Nibbāna paccaya hotu no dhuvaṃ niccaṃ paramaṃ sukkhaṃ (May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvana which is the greatest bliss, constantly and certainly).
