Description of manuscript content:
The fourth fascicle of Cundasukarika Sutta was written in Lao and narrates Matali Devaputta who took Dhammika Bandit to the Tavatimsa heaven. God Indra invited him to stay but Dhammika declined because he wanted to accumulate merit. Then he descended to the human world.
Colophon:
Folio 13 on the recto side: In Cunla-sakkarat (CS) 1252, a kot nyi year, on the third day of the waxing moon of the eighth [lunar] month, the sixth day of the week (Friday), a tao san day, at the time of the forenoon horn (9:00–10:30), the writing of this manuscript was finished. Maha Somdet Khamphilapanya and his relatives had the most ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Chunthasukari-kasut to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. Nibbāna paccaya hotu no niccaṃ dhuvaṃ dhuvaṃ (May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvana constantly and certainly).
