In the Dhutanga, the thirteen austere practices, piṇḍapātikaṅga (alms-food-eater’s practice) is the third one. The practice is used by a monk or practitioner who intend to eat only the food he collected on the amlsround while not accepting food in the vihara (monastery) or offered by invitations in a layman’s house.
