Description of manuscript content:
The text is about a king who banished his daughter named Putri Ambara Sari, one of a pair of twins who was considered to bring disaster. In her wanderings, Putri Ambara Sari met Raden Ambara Pati, the son of the King of Ambara Madya. Disaster struck them because of a king who was a descendant of a jin named Megantaka who wanted Putri Ambara Sari for himself. However, before he could make her one of his concubines, she became ill and he gave up his plan and when she was cured and back with Ambara Pati war broke out and Megantakan was defeated after which he became a wise and good king.
Other notes:
The text is called Gerompong Gelang, but its contents is the same as that of Megantaka. The text is read during natural disasters like raging storms or during famines, droughts and crop failures.
