Description of manuscript content:
The text describes the sacredness of the Ganga River for Hindus. The river is one of the most important rivers of India and regarded as the river of lives, souls and holiness. The water of the Ganga is used for bathing and drinking to escape from illness and diseases.
Colophon:
Folio 8 on the recto side: In BE 2540, on the tenth day of the waning moon of the eighth [lunar] month, a Tuesday, a moeng pao day, corresponding to 29th July 1997, at 9:45, the writing of this manuscript was finished. The production of this manuscript is for those who are interested in the merit; it may give them some benefits. Folio 8 on the verso side: Thiracitta Thera Bikkhuno (Phui Thiracit) from Vat Pha Maha That Rajabovoravihan, Luang Prabang, was the scribe who copied this manuscript from the original version. Thu (monk) Phui from Vat That.
