Description of manuscript content:
In the Buddha’s lifetime, a group of bhikkhus in Vesali, in order to gain offerings, convinced the people that they had reached a superior human stage, acquired the truly noble knowledge and vision. When the Buddha was informed, he blamed the bhikkhus for their greed and prescribed the fourth Pārājikā – rules entailing expulsion from the Sangha (defeat).
