The letter is in Madurese in pegon script with one line in Javanese in Javanese script. The letter has the signature of Habibun who was the grandfather of Ustadz Ponirin who was the son of KH. Abdul Khoir (Abdulakhir) who, himself, was the son of KH. Habibun. Ustadz Ponirin and his family provided the information that KH. Habibun was a central ullama who led the pesantren in Langgar Rajeh, Desa Gelaman, Arjasa (Pulau Kangean), Sumenep.
