While the Buddha was staying at the Jetavana Monastery, he narrated a story of Mrs. Kisakhotami. When her son died, she was terribly in misery. She carried his body and went from house to house to ask for medicine. When she met the Buddha and asked for medicine, he suggested her look for cabbage seeds from a household whose family members had never died. She followed his instruction but could find no seeds in such a house because there was no house without death. Then she realised death as a normal fate for all living beings.

Folio 12 on the recto side: In BE 2 thousand 4 hundred and 81 (BE 2481), a huang sai year, on the twelfth day of the waxing moon of the third [lunar] month, the fourth day of the week (Wednesday), a huang sai year, at the time of the morning drum (7:30–9:00,) the writing of this manuscript was finished. Xiang (ex-novice) Hüang and Sao (Miss) Sui, together with their children, had the ardent religious faith to jointly sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Setthi Khaningha Luk (an affluent thinking of the child) to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May the benefit of this merit support us. May we be escaped from Apāya (the four unhappy existences). May we reach the three stages of happiness with the Nirvana as the ultimate goal. May all our wishes and desires not be ignored. Sādhu sādhu anumodāmi (Well done! We say amen.)
