Description of manuscript content:
While residing in the Jetavana Monastery, Lord Buddha was questioned by Sariputta Thera and deities about his Teachings after the end of 5,000 years. The Buddha referred to one of his sermons delivered to the five ascetics. After his Teaching passes through 500 years in the future, many things will start to happen: there will no longer be a bhikkhuni (female monks) nor an arahant in the next 1,000 years; no one will be able to recite the Tipitaka in the next 2,000 years; monks will no longer do the Uposatha in the next 3,000 years; people with a piece of yellow robe on their shoulders will be called monks in the next 4,000 years; and there will be no more Buddhist monks in the next 5,000 years.
