Description of manuscript content:

Maharat or Mahārāja (the great king) is the eleventh of the 13 episodes of the Vessantara Jātaka. The text narrates that when Brahmin Jujaka took Jali and Kanha back to his hometown in Kalingkha, he lost the way and went to Sivi which was the city of King Sonsai (Sanjaya). When King Sonsai saw his grandchildren, he ransomed them from Jujaka. The king also fed Jujaka with delicious food. Because he had been hungry for many days, he ate so much that his stomach broke and he died.

Folio 26 on the recto side: In Culasakkarat hundred forty three (correspond to CS 1143), a huang pao year, on the seventh day of the waning moon of the fifth [lunar] month, the fifth day of the week (Thursday), a kat hao day, in the morning between 7:30–9:00, the writing of this manuscript was finished. May this merit support my parents and siblings. The scripts are not smooth, these might make mistakes. Please consider [the manuscript] by yourself.
