Description of manuscript content:
This manuscript is the first of 110 volumes titled “Si Pu Co Ang.” It is a folk tale that contains a folk tale letter originally in Chinese, translated into the Makassarese language in 1662 during the reign of Ceng Ti Awo, when Kong Hi Kung was king. The folk tale letter or story was called “Si Koang Ang” during the rule of Si Pu Coang.

- Volume 32 was destroyed by termites. Volumes 51–110 are missing. - The information about the total number of volumes (110) comes from the list of works by Liem Kheng Yong found at the end of each volume. - The writing is dominated by the Lontarak Makassarese script, with some characters modified by Liem Kheng Yong. - Initially, this manuscript was rented out to the Peranakan Chinese community. - It is adapted from a Chinese folk legend. - There is a red stamp of the author that reads: “LIEM KHENG YONG-MAKASSAR.”
