Description of manuscript content:

This manuscript is the fifth of 14 volumes titled “Ga Ge.” It is a folk tale that tells the story of Ciao Ong giving an order to Sing Se to leave the village and go to Tio. Tio is the place where his parents live, and there he is to serve as a minister.

- The writing is dominated by the Lontarak Makassarese script, with some characters modified by Liem Kheng Yong. - Initially, this manuscript was rented out to the Peranakan Chinese community. - It is adapted from a Chinese folk legend. - There is a red stamp of the author that reads: “LIEM KHENG YONG-MAKASSAR.”
