Description of manuscript content:

This manuscript is the first of 17 volumes titled “Ban Hao Tiong.” It is a folk tale that tells the story of a battle involving the city of “Pabbabaiunga.” The event came to the attention of Baca Kago Eng Soe Yanga, a just and fair minister.

- The writing is dominated by the Lontarak Makassarese script, with some characters modified by Liem Kheng Yong. - Initially, this manuscript was rented out to the Peranakan Chinese community. - It is adapted from a Chinese folk legend. - There is a red stamp of the author that reads: “LIEM KHENG YONG-MAKASSAR.” - The paper containing the colophon is torn, resulting in the loss of the manuscript's date of writing. - The back cover is missing.
