Description of manuscript content:
This manuscript is the eighth of 19 volumes titled “Ce Si Ao Tong.” It is a folk tale that tells the story of three siblings who used their supernatural powers to travel to the village of Tung Hoana. The village was known for its strong mystical aura. Upon arrival, they employed their mystical skills, as the ominous, supernatural atmosphere had already begun to fill the sky.
Other notes:
- The writing is dominated by the Lontarak Makassarese script, with some characters modified by Liem Kheng Yong. - Initially, this manuscript was rented out to the Peranakan Chinese community. - It is adapted from a Chinese folk legend. - There is a red stamp of the author that reads: “LIEM KHENG YONG-MAKASSAR.” - The front cover is missing. - Several pages at the beginning of the manuscript are missing. - Part of the paper is torn, resulting in missing text.
