Description of manuscript content:
This manuscript is the fifth of 22 volumes titled “San He Lan Tong.” It is a folk tale that tells of the disappearance of a young man, the nephew of Tiobi Ong, who was separated from the ranks of the troops. It is believed that he was either captured and tortured by the enemy or recruited to join a caravan.

- The writing is dominated by the Lontarak Makassarese script, with some characters modified by Liem Kheng Yong, and features a combination with Hanzi. - Initially, this manuscript was rented out to the Peranakan Chinese community. - It is adapted from a Chinese folk legend. - There is a red stamp of the author that reads: “LIEM KHENG YONG-MAKASSAR.”
