Description of manuscript content:
Yanthun Thesana or Yandun (ill omen) for preaching. The text describes the virtue and power of Abhaya-paritta (the danger-free protection) which contains the text describing different things, such as unlucky portents, omens, disturbing bird calls, distressing astrology and nightmares, whatever there may be causing dissatisfaction. May all these be destroyed by the power of the Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha. People who recite and listen to the Yandun are believed to be protected from all dangers. The Yandun is also used for chanting to make a holy water for sprinkling at a house ceremony.

Folio 8 on the verso side: In BE 2527, a kap chai year, on the first day of the waxing moon of the fourth [lunar] month, a Wednesday, [the writing was finished]. Pha Phui Thiracitto from Vat Pha Maha That Rajabovoravihan, Luang Prabang, was the sponsor and the scribe of the making of this manuscript to support the Teachings of the Buddha. Nibbāna paccayo hotu (May this be a condition to reach Nirvana).
