Description of manuscript content:

This manuscript is the 18th of 26 volumes titled “Lie Eng Cun.” It is a folk tale that tells the story of Ho Ang forcing Si Yang To to engage in a marital relationship.

- The writing is dominated by the Lontarak Makassarese script, with some characters modified by Liem Kheng Yong, and features a combination with Hanzi. - Initially, this manuscript was rented out to the Peranakan Chinese community. - It is adapted from a Chinese folk legend. - There is a red stamp of the author that reads: “LIEM KHENG YONG-MAKASSAR.” - The cover is made from newspaper. - The paper containing the manuscript’s date of writing is torn, making the date unreadable. - Parts of the paper are torn on the back cover and on pages 41–42v, causing portions of the text to be missing.
