Description of manuscript content:
This manuscript is the fourth of 26 volumes titled “Lie Eng Cun.” It is a folk tale that tells the story of pursuing a person hiding in the attic until they are captured.

Other notes:
- The writing is dominated by the Lontarak Makassarese script, with some characters modified by Liem Kheng Yong, and features a combination with Hanzi. - Initially, this manuscript was rented out to the Peranakan Chinese community. - It is adapted from a Chinese folk legend. - There is a red stamp of the author that reads: “LIEM KHENG YONG-MAKASSAR.” - There is another text written in blue on page 1r that reads: “Buku Cerita Makassar Bisa di batja djangan di robek” (Makassar Story Book — Can be read, do not tear).
