Description of manuscript content:

This manuscript is the seventh of 45 volumes. The manuscript, titled “Tek Ceng-Ngo Ho Peng Se,” is folk tale that tells the story about the marriage of Tek Ceng and his lover; they are a couple deeply in love with each other.

Other notes:

- The writing is dominated by the Lontarak Makassarese script, with some characters modified by Liem Kheng Yong, and features a combination with Hanzi. - Initially, this manuscript was rented out to the Peranakan Chinese community. - It is adapted from a Chinese folk legend. - There is a red stamp of the author that reads: “LIEM KHENG YONG-MAKASSAR.” - There is missing text caused by termite damage from page 21r to 33v.
