Description of manuscript content:

This manuscript is the first of 32 volumes titled “Si Teng San.” It is a folk tale that tells the story of So Yi Su, when he was asked to propose to Petae Heyang.

Other notes:

- The writing is dominated by the Lontarak Makassarese script, with some characters modified by Liem Kheng Yong, and features a combination with Hanzi. - Initially, this manuscript was rented out to the Peranakan Chinese community. - It is adapted from a Chinese folk legend. - Several pages are missing at the beginning and end. - The place and date of writing are not available. - The manuscript cover is missing, and some of the binding stitches have come undone.
