Description of manuscript content:

This manuscript is the 58th of 79 volumes. The manuscript, titled “Sam Po Kong,” is folk tale that tells the story of Tiyang Lo had understood the purpose of the dove’s arrival. It was sent by its master to convey an important matter, and the doves were his messengers, like disciples.

- The writing is dominated by the Lontarak Makassarese script, with some characters modified by Liem Kheng Yong, and features a combination with Hanzi. - Initially, this manuscript was rented out to the Peranakan Chinese community. - It is adapted from a Chinese folk legend. - There is a red stamp of the author that reads: “LIEM KHENG YONG-MAKASSAR.” - There are termite bite marks on the side of the manuscript.
