Description of manuscript content:

This manuscript is the 44th of 79 volumes. The manuscript, titled “Sam Po Kong,” is folk tale that tells the story of a hero named Tang Wang, a tall and strong warrior, standing over 8 feet tall. He was made a knight because of his intelligence and strength.

Other notes:

- The writing is dominated by the Lontarak Makassarese script, with some characters modified by Liem Kheng Yong, and features a combination with Hanzi. - Initially, this manuscript was rented out to the Peranakan Chinese community. - It is adapted from a Chinese folk legend. - There is a red stamp of the author that reads: “LIEM KHENG YONG-MAKASSAR.”
