Description of manuscript content:

This manuscript is the 39th of 79 volumes. The manuscript, titled “Sam Po Kong,” is folk tale that tells the story of King Pe Hong and Tiang Lo were startled by a loud noise, which turned out to be the sound of Sing Naeji, a dragon, and a tiger. The dragon was born from the tiger, and Sing Naeji is the incarnation of the angel Ho Hoa Sing.

Other notes:

- The writing is dominated by the Lontarak Makassarese script, with some characters modified by Liem Kheng Yong, and features a combination with Hanzi. - Initially, this manuscript was rented out to the Peranakan Chinese community. - It is adapted from a Chinese folk legend. - There is a red stamp of the author that reads: “LIEM KHENG YONG-MAKASSAR.” - There is another text in Lontarak script written in pencil on page 1v.
