Description of manuscript content:

This manuscript is the 19th of 79 volumes. The manuscript, titled “Sam Po Kong,” is folk tale that tells the story of A clergyman named Sing Siyang advised Sam Po Kong that if a king wants his kingdom to be full of peace “Salemahalatokae,” his government must faithfully carry out governance properly.

Other notes:

- The writing is dominated by the Lontarak Makassarese script, with some characters modified by Liem Kheng Yong, and features a combination with Hanzi. - Initially, this manuscript was rented out to the Peranakan Chinese community. - It is adapted from a Chinese folk legend. - There is a red stamp of the author that reads: “LIEM KHENG YONG-MAKASSAR.” - There are holes at the end section caused by insect bites.
