Description of manuscript content:
This manuscript is the 10th of 93 volumes. The manuscript, titled “Tang Le Keng,” is a folk tale that tells the story of Tang Hi Cing, who mocks those who say that Allah the Exalted is the Almighty Creator.
Other notes:
The writing is dominated by the Lontara Makassarese script, with some characters modified by Liem Kheng Yong, and features a combination with Hanzi. Initially, this manuscript was rented out to the Peranakan Chinese community. It is adapted from a Chinese folk legend. The page that mentions the time the text was written is torn, so the date of copying is unknown; only the year of its writing is present. There is a red stamp of the author that reads: “LIEM KHENG YONG-MAKASSAR.
