Description of manuscript content:
The whole text was written in Pali is used by monks or novices to read at the beginning of a Buddhist ceremony or festival, for example the Vessantara Jataka festival.
Colophon:
Folios 32 and 33 on the recto sides (the same text): In Culasakkarat (CS) 1220, a poek sanga year, on the fourth waning day of the first [lunar] month, a huang mao day, the sixth day of the week (Friday), the writing of this manuscript was finished in the late evening (between 19.30–21.00 o’clock). Thit (ex-monk) Kaeo, Sao (Mrs.) Sopha, I (Ms.) Pheng and all their male and female servants had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Lam Sut to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May all of us reach the three states of happiness with Nirvāna as the ultimate goal. May our wishes not be ignored. May all our wishes come true. Nibbāna paccayo hotu no niccaṃ dhuvaṃ dhuvaṃ (May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvāna, constantly and certainly).
