Description of manuscript content:
The text of Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta in Pali and Lao is used for reading in a sermon and learning. It is the middle Sutta that the Buddha gave preaching to The Five Ascetics, in Isipatana forest. Thammacakkappavattana sutta means Setting the Wheel of Dhamma in Motion. It was the first preaching of the Buddha after his enlightenment on the fifteenth waxing day of the eight [lunar] month, or It is Āsāḷha Pūjā.
Colophon:
Folio 13 on the verso side: This bundle contains two fascicles including Sap Thammachak and Sap Sutmon Nòi. Somdet Kunlavongsa Rattanapanya had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of five thoudand years. May my parents, siblings, relatives, and the teachers who had taught me and my beloved friends be happy in each of their lives.
