Description of manuscript content:
The first fascicle of Cundasukarika Sutta was written in Pali language begins Sukittimā subācāro susiravā supāgatassa. The text is popularly used by a monk to read in the nyot tham ceremony which is organized in a monastery or a house in order to get merit.
Colophon:
Folio 6 on the recto side: In Culasakkarat (CS) 1272, a kot set year, on the first waxing day of the eleventh [lunar] month, the third day of the week (Tuesday), a ka mao day. The writing of this manuscript had been finished in the morning between 9.00-10.30 o’clock. Akkhavorapasitthi Khamphila Setthanakkhara Itsara Hòkham Faina (king) together with the queen and his mother king, prince princess and all royal family had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entiled Chanthasukarika sut, to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of five thousand years. Suddinaṃ vattame danaṃ nibbāna paccayo hotu no niccaṃ dhuvaṃ (This gift of mine has been properly offered. May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvana, constantly and certainly.
