Description of manuscript content:
Fasamang Khamluang, the heavenly message from Indra to human beings in the world. The content contains the protective text of khatha (verses) in Pali in order to recite. In Sangkat (Culasakkarat) 1250 (AD 1888) there happened a war and dangers for all human beings. The bad persons who are lacking of morality and not respected to each other would be killed by themselves. Only the ones who are aware of good deed and follow the Teachings of the Buddha would escape from the dangers. The ones who have this Fasamangkham text in their houses would also be safe from all bad happenings.
Colophon:
Folio 8 on the recto side: Saiyamangkhala Culasakkarat (CS) 1279, a moeng sai year, on the eleventh waning day of the sixth [lunar] month, the fifth day of the week (Friday), the writing of this manuscript was finished at the time of the evening [horn] (between 15.00-16.30 o’clock). Sao (Mrs.) Khampu from Ban Hua Xiang had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Fa Samang Kham Luang to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May I reach the three kinds of happiness with Nirvāna as the ultimate, may all my wishes not be ignored. Sādhu sādhu anumodāmi (Amen! Amen! I rejoice).
