Description of manuscript content:
This [sermon of the] Abhidhamma Piṭaka was delivered by the Buddha to his mother in Tāvatiṁsā Heaven. This Mahā Paṭṭhāna session or Paccaya 24 defines causes and factors of the Dhamma or emotions. For example, if we meritoriously behave, we will be reborn in heaven. If we sinfully behave, we will be reborn in hell. The fact is compared to a deeply-rooted Bodhi tree that never falls down by storm. Emotions causing affection, anger, and delusion shake our minds. This is compared to the blind who depends on a rail for a walk or to a cow man who must remember the number and the characters of his cows in order to take care of them.

I behave like wasps and hornets who swarm around flowers, causing the flowers to fall down into swamps. I stop here now. The sponsor [of the making of this manuscript] is Pò Liang Khòng Nae and his family. I finished the writing in Cūḷasakarāja 1262, on the second day of the waxing moon of the seventh [lunar] month. Remark: This date corresponds to Wednesday, 30 May 1900 (1262 Jyestha 2). Remark: This date corresponds to 1262 Jyestha 2.
Other notes:
The front cover and the back cover are decorated with black lacquer and gilded with gold leaves. The manuscript is slightly damaged by insects. (The inner flyleaf) I put my hands together as yellow and red flowers to pay homage to the Buddha, the Dhamma, and the Sangha. May the merit derived from copying this manuscript allow me to drive on a ship or the so-called Noble Eightfold Path of the Buddha that leads me across the Cycle of Rebirths. This manuscript was copied from the original version written by Còng Takā Sarā Thao from Bān Nam Mang and sponsored by Nāi Tingtāng Kae Nantā, a village headman of Bān Lāng Toe (Bān Nüa).
