Description of manuscript content:
The first fascicle of Buaraphantha. The story tells of one occasion, the Buddha was dwelling at the Veluvana Monastery. Venerable Kala who lived in Savatthi came to the Buddha and asked the Buddha for permission to leave away for intensive mediation practice in a quiet place. The Buddha gave him permission. The monk intended to practice meditation by following the 32 elements at a cemetery. Later he attained the higher quality of Dhamma. During his practice at the cemetery, there was a couple, the husband named Kala and the wife named Kali who lived near the cemetery. They earned their lives from corps. One day, they heard the monk chanting. They intentionally listened to the chanting. After the chanting, they both achieved sotapanna (one who has attained the first stage of holiness).
