Description of manuscript content:
Vidhura Pandita, the elegant sage who was no ordinary man of wisdom. His life’s purpose was to speak the truth. He was the chief counselor to King Dhananjaya in Indapatta city. His elegant tongue had such power that one hundred and one kings from faraway lands, hypnotized by the sage’s sweet voice, were unable to return to their kingdoms. This seventh fascicle of Vidhura Jataka mentions about when Vudhura left the city and accompanied with Punnaka, the Yak. Punnaka thought to kill Vidhura and offer his head to the Naga king in order to have the king’s daughter become his wife. But Punnaka’s evil plan was not successful.
