Description of manuscript content:
The text describes the merit derived from listening to the chanting or preaching of Sai noi and making the manuscript entitled Sap Sai. By making the manuscript of Sai noi, the sponsor would get merit as the same as making thousands of the Buddha statues. The Buddha said that "the ones who give food and water - means giving the energy; the ones who give clothes - means giving the beauty; the ones who give Dhamma - means giving the humanity, wisdom, to escape from suffer.
Colophon:
Folio 11 on the recto side: In BE 2482, a kat mao year, on the second waxing day of the fourth [lunar] month, the first day of the week, Sunday, the writing of this manuscript was finished in the afternoon at 1.00 o’clock. Sao (Mrs.) Thi from Ban Hua Xiang and her children and all her relatives had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Sap Sai Nòi to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May this merit support Thit (ex-monk) Khun, her husband, who has already died and has gone to the other world. If he is stuck in a place of suffering, please have him moved to a good place. If he is already in a good place, please let him enjoy happiness numerous times more than previously. If he still has merit, may he enter the crystal city that is Nirvāna, definitely. Suddhinaṃ vatta me dhanaṃ paramaṃ sukhaṃ sādhu anumodāmi.
