This is the fifth fascicle of the story of Mahosot. A Bodhisatva was born as Mahosot (the one who has a powerful medicine), the son of Sirivatthaka and Sumana, a wealthy merchant in Mithila city. When he was born, he clasped in his hand a medicinal herb that caused a painless birth for his mother and that cured all the diseases of sick people. When Sirivatthaka grinded the medicinal herb and smeared it on his forehead, his headache immediately disappeared. At the age of seven, Mahosot demonstrated a great architectural talent. Throughout his childhood his wisdom grew. With his excellence, he was one of advisors to King Vitheha of Mithila. When King Vitheha died Mahosot moved to Varanasi city and became the advisor to King Chulani Prommathat.
