While dwelling at the Jetavanna monastery, the Buddha gave a sermon to five hundred monks who were assembling in the Dhamma pavilion and discoursing about happening of diseases in the city. The Buddha describes the story of Jayasangaha Kumara who finished the three divisions of the Brahmanic canon of authorized religious teaching and practice and helped the city on stopping the diseases.
As the text mentions on folio 15 on the verso side, this manuscript was made at Vat Pa Nya Thuep temple, Luang Prabang. The scribe was staying there because Vat Pak Chaek was affected by the civil war on Laos (1962-1975).
