King Bimbisara built the monastery and abodes in his bamboo garden called Velavanna and offered the monastery and garden to the Buddha and monks. One night, the king while sleeping heard strange noise which made him frightened. In the coming morning, the king asked the Buddha about the voice. The Buddha explained him that was the voice of spirits who were ever his relatives in the past existence. Later, the Buddha advised the king to make merit and dedicate the result of merit to them.
