Munlakuet or Mullaküt (the origin of thought), is the belief in the rites for the dead and cremation. The text describes the beginning of the world. Lord Buddha was born as a king named Phaya Samantaraja who ruled four cities. The king organized the funeral ceremonies for his people differently dependent on the cases of their deaths. For example, when a person died of drowning, the king ordered people to smear the body with the turmeric powder and dust and then organized the cremation. These rites for the death have been followed ever since.

Thit (ex-Monk) Pheng and Sao Sao (Mrs. Sao) along with their daughter named I (Ms.) Chansuk [from] Ban Vat That had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Munlaküt (The Origin of Thoughts) to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years.
