Description of manuscript content:
The Elder has seen one hundred thousand deities at Phra Malai at the Culamani Stupa in the Tavatimsa Heaven, where the relics of the Buddha are installed. The Venerable talked especially with Maitreya, the next Buddha. Maitreya left the message with Pha Malai that the people in the world who wish to meet him in his Era, have to: 1. abstain from killing and hitting their parents, ordained persons and hermits. 2. abstain from causing a Buddha to bleed and causing a schism in the order. 3. pay attention and listen to the preaching of the Vessantara Jataka for one whole day.
Colophon:
Folio 18 on the recto side: In the Buddhist Era (BE) 2384, a kot chai year, on the seventh waning day of the ninth [lunar] month, the fifth day of the week (Thursday), a huang khai day. The writing [of this manuscript] was finished at noon. Pho (father) Bunma and Mae (Mother) Bunma with all their children and relatives and Chao Khanan (ex-monk) Khamphilapanya and Chua (novice) Saen had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of [this manuscript entitled] Malai Saen to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May all our wishes come true. May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvāna, dhuvaṃ (permanence).
