Description of manuscript content:
The second fascicle of Vianaya continues from the first fascicle and is about a Buddhist monk’s Pārisuddhi-sīla (morality for purification) consisting of four categories: 1. Pātimokkhasaṃvara-sīla: restraint in accordance with the monastic disciplinary code. 2. Indriyassaṃvara-sīla: restraint of the 6 senses eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind. 3. Ājījvapārisuddhi-sīla: purity of conduct as regards livelihood. 4. Paccayasannissita-sīla: pure conduct as regards the necessities of life.

Folio 27 on the recto side: In the Buddhist Era [BE] 2383, with 2616 years still to come in the future [for the total life span of the Teachings of the Buddhism], on the fourth waxing day of the twelfth [lunar] month, the fifth day of the week (Thursday), a huang pao day. Thao Kam, gold smith, had the religious faith to sponser the making of [this manuscript entitled] Sap Vinaya, bundle 1. May my wishes come true. Dhuvaṃ sohaṃ sādhu (certainly, Amen!). A huang pao year, [the making of this manuscript is] to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. The writing of [this manuscript] was finished at noon, the fifth day of the week (Thursday), a huang pao day.
