Description of manuscript content:
The text mentions King Asoka of Pataliputta who converted to Buddhism after having listened to the teachings of Novice Nikhottha. The king supported Buddhism and the Sangha by daily giving alms to 60 thousand monks. The king spread the relics of the Buddha to other cities and he built the Asokaram Monastery and 84,000 residences and donated them to the Sangha. The king questioned the Sangha about the number of categories of the Teachings of the Buddha. The sangha answered the king that the Teachings of the Buddha contain 84,000 categories.
