Description of manuscript content:

The manuscript contains two texts. The first text explains the history of the Prophet Muhammad in the questions and answers format. The second text deals with Islamic jurisprudence about how the daily prayers should be performed and how one is to ritually cleanse one’s self (ṭahārah) in the questions and answers format .

Other notes:

Page 0003v contains calculations in pencil and the following text in Roman script: Adapoen Ada poen hamba jang amat rendah hamba bernama Ratoe Moehamad which was probably added later. Page 0004v contains unrelated text in pencil. Page 5r has the following text in Roman script: Kepada adinda Abdullah Ahmad (? in Arabic script) Tandjoeng Baroe. Hadji Hambali Tandjoeng Baroe bengkoelah Kajoe Agoeng, which was probably added later, as well as calculations in pencil. The Arabic script does not use diacritics.
