The manuscript contains jurisprudence of the Shāfi‘ī School. Its author, Imām Rāfi‘ī is a Mujtahid Tarjīḥ ulama like Imām al-Nawāwī. The role of a Mujtahid Tarjīḥ is to make a selection of the jurisprudence on cases on which there is disagreement within the Shāfi‘ī School so that they can be used as reference to produce the best opinions.

Almost each page is full of quotations of jurisprudence from a variety of Shāfi‘ī sources with many marginal notes. Some pages are damaged causing loss of text. The text is written with the use of diacritics. There are interlinear glosses in Javanese.
