Description of manuscript content:
When Kaliṅga City suffered from drought, the people were lacking water and food. They asked the king for help but he could not make rain for them. The king sent eight Brahmans to Vitheharat City to ask King Sivijaya for the auspicious white elephant. When the elephant had left Vitheharat City, the people got angry and banished Prince Sivijaya out of the city.
Colophon:
Folio 25 on the recto side: In Culasakkarat (CS) 1222, a kot san year, on the fifth day of the waxing moon of the sixth [lunar] month, the third day of the week (Tuesday), a poek set day, at the time before noon between 10:30–12:00, the writing of this manuscript was finished. Saṅgharājā Phutthapanya had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Visaiyabanha to support the Teaching of Gotama Buddha to last until the end of 5 thousand years. [This manuscript was written to be] dedicated [the merit] to my older brother named Thit (Mr.) Phomma who has passed away to the other world. May the benefit derived from this merit be a golden vehicle taking my older brother to reach the three stages of happiness with Nirvana as the ultimate goal. Niccaṃ dhuvaṃ dhuvaṃ.
