Description of manuscript content:
Nakhòn or Nagara (entering the city) is the 13th of the 13 episodes of the Vessantara Jataka. The text describe Vessantara who disrobed himself from the ascetic-hood and left his hermitage. The prince dressed in royal attire and returned to Sivi. He ruled his kingdom with royal virtues and died at the age of 120. He entered the Tusita Heaven as the male deity Santusita.

Folio 17 on the recto side: In Cula-sakkarat thousand hundred 97 (should be 1197), a hap mot year, on the ninth day of the waning moon of the sixth [lunar] month, the fourth day of the week (Wednesday), a tao chai day, at the time of the sunset drum (13:30–15:00), the writing of this manuscript was finished. Chao Khanan (ex-monk) Visa Ratthapanya together with all relatives had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manu-script entitled Vessantara to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5 thousand years. May all our wishes and desires be fulfilled. Nibbāna paccayo hotu no niccaṃ dhuvaṃ dhuvaṃ (May this be a condition for me to reach Nirvana, constantly and certainly).
