Description of manuscript content:
Princess Maddi, Vessantara’s consort, is the ninth of the thirteen episodes of the Vessantara Jataka. Princess Maddi was away to gather fruits. After she came back, she found her way blocked in by three fierocious animals: a lion, a tiger and a leopard. Having known that Jujaka had left with her two children, God Indra sent her three beasts to let her pass. When she arrived in the hermitage, she could not find her children. She asked her husband what had happened to them, but he kept silent. She was very upset, burst into tears and fainted.
